“It is governed by a bailiff, two constables and a tything-man, for the town-tything, who are chosen at the court leet of the Earl of Cork and Orrery. A constable and tythingman for the West Woodlands, are appointed at the court leet of the Marquess of Bath, and a tythingman for East Woodlands is appointed at the hundred court of Frome.” (p.160)
“The Magisterial Division of Frome comprises the following parishes:-
Beckington, Berkley, Cloford, Elm, Frome Selwood, Laverton, Lullington, Marston Bigott, Nunney, Orchardleigh, Road and Woolverton, Rodden, Standerwick, Whatley Mills [sic], Leigh upon Mendip, Witham Priory and Wanstrow.” (p.162)
